Overall Trade Winner at The Lincolnshire Show 2023
The prestigious Lincolnshire Show is a delightful culmination of farming businesses, local tradespeople and community groups all coming together to showcase the fabulous work they do within our county. 2023 was the first year we held a trade stand at the Show, and we took some of our animals to show visitors what the farm is all about.
It was a pleasant surprise to be informed at the end of the first day, that we had been chosen to receive The Gamekeeper Cup for our Stand in The Countryside Area.
On Day 2, we continued with our team, talking to people about the animals, the work we do with children struggling in mainstream education, and the health and well-being benefits of being outdoors in nature and with animals. When we received word that the president of the LAS His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Toby Dennis had chosen us for the Overall Trade Award we were overwhelmed.
About the farm
Receiving the awards at our first Show was incredibly rewarding for all involved.
Unlike many other petting farms, we are a standalone not-for-profit organisation providing positive experiences with animals to improve health and well-being in the community. There isn’t a commercial enterprise supporting us, and most of the team are volunteers who want to give something back, or pay-it-forward to their fellow community members.
Hard work and determination pays off
It is through hard work, determination and resilience against all the odds, that we have been able to continue to deliver our service to visitors.
Being recognised at The Lincolnshire Show makes it all worth it.
Finding something you love and giving it your everything is the only way you will succeed, and it is with thanks to all the volunteers, staff, supporters and fundraisers that we are able to continue to deliver this first class service to our community.
